El Nuevo Mexico- Austin: A Taste of Authentic Tex-Mex Delights

Today was the most pleasant beautiful experience I’ve had in a long time greeted by hostess Lilly sweet not to mention how clean fast service is waiter Jose absolutely a gem And Roxana and Maricela these waitresses are so special they greet you hug on you but let’s talk about food fabulous chicken fajitas to die for and the manger outside cleaning what a role model but the the best is the Margaritas amazing

Great service. Nice roomy layout and lots of free parking. Table chips and salsa are very flavorful. The started with the Queso which was smooth and tasty. I had the Super Plato which is a crispy taco and cheese enchiladas. Of particular note they did very well with the beans and chili gravy. Both were flavorful and formed a good base for the other components. Well definitely be adding this to our normal rotation. I want to come back on Tuesdays to try the mini street taco plate.

My Husband and were looking for a place to grab breakfast and saw El Nuevo Mexico and decided to give it a try. The service was excellent right away. They brought chips and salsa. Everything is homemade and authentic. We had breakfast tacos, and the Barbacoa plate and queso, We definitely did not regret stopping here. I highly recommend and give it a 10 out of 10.

Had dinner here for first time and I was impressed by everything that we've got. I am now a fan of their bistec. Agua frescas are made fresh, along with their fresh homemade tortillas. Green enchiladas were also great. I will be back to try more of their menu! Good stuff and very nice staff!

My family and I have been regulars here for a long time, this place is consistent and does not disappoint. Margarita pitchers are reasonably priced and strong, the food is always hot and flavorful. This most recent time we had Julián as our server and he was fantastic, he made sure we had everything we needed and made great conversation with us. We love this place!

Love this place! It’s one of our go-to restaurants. The food is great…breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Best menudo in Austin. Great breakfast tacos. For lunch or dinner some of our favorites are the ceviche tostadas, enchiladas verde, asada tacos, and the caldo. Actually anything we’ve tried has been great! The servers are friendly and attentive, especially Julian and Cero. Great place for a weekend breakfast, a weeknight dinner when ya don’t wanna cook, a group birthday lunch, or a Friday night dinner with margaritas. It is definitely worth trying if you haven’t tried them before…you’ll be back!

We visited for breakfast and had such a great experience! The homemade tortillas were fresh and delicious — you can truly taste the difference. I also loved that they offer healthy options, and the coffee was fresh and flavorful. They have a kids menu, and the pancakes and bacon were definitely kid-approved! The atmosphere was lively with Mexican music playing, and it’s a very kid-friendly spot. There was plenty of space and it didn’t feel cramped at all — which is such a plus when you’re dining with kids. Overall, a wonderful family-friendly breakfast spot. We’ll definitely be back!
